Graduation Requirements
Get all credits stipulated and pass the graduation exam. The graduation exam includes: a graduation project report of not less than than 3000 words, give a graduation concert and pass professional exams.
Requirements of the graduation concert: A solo concert not less than 50 minutes (Piano concerto can be used). The program must include: More than two works of different styles and periods and a Chinese work of no less than 5 minutes.
Complete courses of Sixth-level Sight Singing and Ear Training and Second-level English.
Course Structure and Credit Distribution (Not less than 156 credits)
Main courses of the major (Not less than 27 credits)
14 credits of Piano Lessons, 2 credits of History of Keyboard Arts, 4 credits of Piano Performance and Teaching, 2 credits of Piano Accompaniment Arts(1), 1 credit of chorus, not less than 4 credits of other elective courses.
Characteristic Courses (No less than 6 credits)
2 credits of Chinese Piano Works Performance, 2 credits of Piano Accompaniment Arts 2, no less than 2 credits of other elective courses.
Basic Courses of Subjects (Not less than 44 credits)
Musicology: 4 credits of Chinese Traditional Music Basis, 4 credits of Western Music History, 2 credits of Chinese Ancient Musical History, 2 credits of History of Music in Modern China, no less than 10 credits of other elective courses.
Composition Technology and Theory: 8 credits of Sight Singing and Ear Training, 2 credits of Music Theory, 4 credits of Harmony, 2 credits of Polyphony Analysis, 4 credits of Musical Form and Work Analysis, not less than 2 credits of other elective courses.
Public Foundation Courses (No less than 50 credits) (Not for International Students)
Compulsory National Regulations and other Humanities and Social Sciences Category: 3 credits of Cultivation of Ethic Thought and Basis of Law, 2 credits of Modern and Contemporary Chinese History, 3 credits of Fundamental Principles of Marxism, 6 credits of Mao Zedong Thought and Introduction to Theoretical System of Socialism with Chinese Characteristics, 4 credits for Physical Education, 16 credits for English, 2 credits of Art Introduction, 4 credits of Computer Science, 1 credit of Military Theory, 1 credit of Entrance Education, 2 credits of Government, not less than 6 credits of other elective courses.
Practice (Not less than 23 credits)
Not less than 22 credits of Professional Practice: 2 credits of graduation concert, 2 credits of graduation project (paper), 5 credits of semester concert and 4 credits of collective art practices.
Not less than 1 credit of Social Practice and 1 credit of that shall be Military Practice (Not required for International Students).
No less than 6 credits of courses of lectures and no less than 1 credit of that shall be lectures of Piano Department.
