CHINA CONSERVATORY OF MUSICIn this golden September, the autumn wind brings us cool, and the heady fragrance of laurel blossoms wafts through the fresh air. On September 4th, the opening ceremony for the 2018 freshmen of the China Conservatory of Music was solemnly held in the National Music Hall of our school. The School Party Secretary Zhang Yajun, President Wang Liguang, Deputy Party Secretary Wu Wu, Secretary of the Discipline Inspection Commission Liu Yu, Deputy President Wang Zheng, and related functional departments as well as the leaders of Teaching Units attended the ceremony. All freshmen of undergraduate and postgraduate attended the ceremony, besides, some parents of the freshmen also came to the scene. The opening ceremony was hosted by Zhang Lihua, Minister of the Party Committee’s Students Affairs Department.
In the sound of the solemn national anthem, the opening ceremony for 2018 freshmen officially began. Guo Wenzheng, the 2018 undergraduate freshman from Music Teacher Education Center, expressed her excitement and pride of being a new student of the China Conservatory of Music. She said that she would keep her original aspiration of the musical art, and interpret the connotation of youth with practical action, striving to become a composite music talent for the new era. Li Yun, the 2018 graduate student from the Composition Department, spoke on behalf of the postgraduate freshmen. She said with true sincerity that a new generation of the China Conservatory of Music had never ceased to strive, and they were accumulating energy for every departure. The students of the China Conservatory of Music will contribute wisdom and strength to the ideal pursuit of creating humanistic values in the world. Li Yaxin, the 2015 undergraduate student from the Department of Vocal and Opera, also made a speech. She talked about her understanding and feelings of college life and she suggested that new students should make good plans for college life, develop in an all-round way, treat people with sincerity, and achieve their own glory in the China Conservatory of Music.
Professor Wang Zhongshan, Deputy Director of the Department of Chinese Instruments, spoke on behalf of teachers. He deeply expressed his love for the China Conservatory of Music, hoping that students can cherish their learning time in school, make plans for their future career ahead of time, work hard for their dreams, and make contributions to the prosperity and development of Chinese musical culture.
Finally, President Wang Liguang made a speech for the opening ceremony of 2018 freshmen. He congratulated and welcomed the new batch of “freshmen of China Conservatory of Music” to step into the campus of the China Conservatory of Music, where they can realize their music dreams and life ideals! Dean Wang stressed that the college years were wonderful and fulfilling, and students should strive to become the communicators of musical culture and musical art as well as shaping themselves into real artists. At present, the school is carrying out the construction of the national first-class discipline, building the “The Chinese National School of Music” with a high sense of historical mission and strong academic confidence, and accumulating the world’s best educational resources to build the Global Music Education League. He encouraged the students to pursue happiness through great efforts, hoping that students can carry forward the Chinese cultural essence, inherit the school tradition, build up Chinese musical confidence, play their own music in the great Chinese culture, write their poems for youth in the great development of their motherland, and display their wisdom and strength for the school’s rapid development.
Accompanied by the warm applause, the 2018 opening ceremony successfully came to an end. The 2018 freshmen have injected new vitality into the Chinese Conservatory of Music, a family full of passion and dreams, and they have unveiled a new chapter. The new journey is ready to set sail, and let us hope that the 2018 freshmen of the Chinese Conservatory of Music will bloom in the future through their great efforts!
