Professor Wang Liguang attended the BRICS Seminar on Governance & Cultural Exchange Forum, performing the Theme song for BRICS cooperation "Together We Are".

From March 30 to 31, the BRICS Seminar on Governance & Cultural Exchange Forum was held in Yangzhou with the theme of "discussing a new blueprint for BRICS cooperation and building a new pattern of global development; deepening BRICS cultural exchange and building a high-quality partnership". The event was hosted by the Publicity Department of the Communist Party of China and the China Foreign Languages Publishing Administration. More than 200 representatives from five BRICS countries - China, Russia, India, Brazil and South Africa - attended the event with an online and offline presence. A broad consensus was forged during the two-day seminar to promote the BRICS countries to build a high-quality partnership and to further deepen and strengthen BRICS cooperation.

The theme song for BRICS cooperation, " Together We Are ", composed by Professor Wang Liguang, Chairman of the Global Music Education League and Director of the Chinese National School of Music of our university, was released globally in the evening of the 30th at the opening ceremony of the BRICS Seminar on Governance & Cultural Exchange Forum with dignitaries and representatives from all walks of life.

Thereafter, Professor Wang Liguang delivered the opening speech with the topic of "Song Flies over the Mountains and the Sea, Music Connects You and Me".He stated that the purpose of praising our times with songs and communicating our friendship with music is not only to provide people with spiritual pleasure and solace, but also to let music become the link that connects us with friendship, conveys our beliefs and builds our faith.

He expected to construct a spiritual logo and cultural essence in song to showcase the cultural exchange of BRICS countries, and to tell the BRICS story and spread the BRICS voice with melodies and harmonies. The Global Music Education League is willing to promote the sustainable development of cultural exchange with all friends and sing the joyful music of "openness, inclusiveness, cooperation and mutual benefit" together.

The opening ceremony also saw the release of the Global Survey: BRICS Cooperation in the New Era of Global Development 2022, BRICS in Global Governance: New Role and New Model, and the world premiere launch of the second BRICS co-production and co-presentation documentary.

Afterwards, a parallel sub-forum of the BRICS Governance Seminar and BRICS Cultural Exchange Forum was held. Mou Xiaofei, Associate Professor of the Department of Art Management of the CCM and Head of the International Department of the Global Music Education League, was invited to deliver the keynote speech of the sub-forum with the topic of "Creating High Quality Art Content and Working Together to Draw a Youthful Picture of BRICS Cultural Exchange".

The fact that Professor Wang Liguang assumed the task of composing the theme song of BRICS cooperation, and attended the opening ceremony of the BRICS Seminar on Governance & Cultural Exchange Forum to deliver a keynote speech is the proof that our university has been working with the Global Music Education League to enhance the international image and build a world-class university with high quality development in recent years.
