At the 85th anniversary of Lu Xun School of the Arts, in order to study and implement the spirit of the 20th CPC National Congress, further carry forward the Yan'an Spirit and inherit the spirit of Lu Xun School of the Arts, the commemorative activities of the 85th anniversary of the founding of Lu Xun School of the Arts were held in Yan'an City, Shaanxi Province from April 10 to 11, which were sponsored by the Publicity Department of CPC Shaanxi Provincial Committee, CPC Yan'an Municipal Committee, Yan'an Municipal People's Government, and Alumni Association of Lu Xun School of the Arts in Yan'an, China, and were organized by China Conservatory of Music. President Li Xincao of China Conservatory of Music led a team to participate in the series of commemorative activities in Yan'an, with personnel of related departments of the Conservatory accompanied.

On the evening of April 10, the handover ceremony of Xian Xinghai's baton was held in Yan'an Grand Theatre. Liu Ni, head of Yan'an Lu Xun School of the Arts Cultural Center, and Li Xincao, President of China Conservatory of Music, attended the ceremony.

After receiving the baton, President Li Xincao said that, this precious baton represents the heritage of culture, as well as the cohesion of the Yan'an Spirit. Back then, this baton was held by Mr. Xian Xinghai, leading countless revolutionary artists to sing inspiring songs, encouraging millions of revolutionary warriors to fight fiercely against invaders. Today's peace and prosperity were made possible at the cost of blood and life. Lu Xun School of the Arts was the birthplace of Yellow River Cantata. Mr. An Bo and Mr. Ma Ke, founders of China Conservatory of Music were from here; Mr. Li Ling, the founder and the first President of the Central Philharmonic (China National Symphony Orchestra at present), as well as the Former President of China Conservatory of Music, was from here; countless of the older generation of revolutionary artists were also from here. It can be said that China Conservatory of Music has countless connections with Lu Xun School of the Arts. And therefore, the experience in the revolutionary land of Yan'an this time is a truly meaningful root-seeking journey. It is our responsibility to inherit the culture and create a bright future. We will inherit the tenacious will of our revolutionary predecessors, carry forward the revolutionary spirit of Lu Xun School of the Arts, and make new contributions in inheriting outstanding traditional Chinese culture, promoting revolutionary culture, and developing advanced Socialist culture.

Later, "Symphony Chorus Concert of Yellow River Cantata, celebrating the 85th Anniversary of the Founding of Lu Xun School of the Arts", conducted by President Li Xincao and performed by the Choir of China National Symphony Orchestra and the Choir Lu Xun School of the Arts, Yan'an University, was held at Yan'an Grand Theatre. The concert featured several well-known revolutionary classics, including Yellow River Cantata, Ode to Yan'an, Remaining True To the Original Aspiration, and New China Will Not Exist in Case of No Communist Party, winning continuous and enthusiastic applause from the audience. In the flames of the revolutionary war, artistic workers from Lu Xun School of the Arts composed several musical works that appealed to the war of resistance against Japan, and reflected the voice of the public; in the new era of peace and prosperity, these classic melodies have traveled through history and once again resonated among the public and stirred people's hearts. The concert performed encores of two masterpieces in the new era, Magnificent Yan'an and Navigation. The applause on site persisted, and the audience was still reluctant to leave.

In the afternoon of the same day, President Li Xincao and Professor Liu Rong, Executive Vice President of Chinese Yuepai (Music School) Research Institute, jointly attended the signing ceremony of the strategic cooperation intention between the Chinese Yuepai (Music School) Research Institute of China Conservatory of Music and Lu Xun School of the Arts, Yan'an University.

President Li Xincao said in his speech that, the true inheritance must be rooted and traceable. China Conservatory of Music has countless connections with Lu Xun School of the Arts in Yan'an.
