On the afternoon of October 19, 2017, Wang Liguang, Chairman of the Global Music Education League and President of China Conservatory of Music, met with Mr. Han Jae Heuk, Minister Counselor of the Embassy of the Republic of Korea in China, and diplomatic staff from the embassy, at the VIP room of the Grand Concert Hall of China Conservatory of Music. They made in-depth discussions on the prospect of cooperation between the two sides in the field of cultural exchange. Wang Cui, Secretary-General of Beijing Advanced Innovation Center for Chinese National School of Music and relevant staff attended the meeting.

President Wang Liguang first welcomed Minister Counselor Han Jae Heuk and his entourage and introduced the school-running concept and characteristics of China Conservatory of Music. He also elaborated on the Chinese National School of Music advocated by China Conservatory of Music and its conceptualization. President Wang pointed out that as Beijing serves as the cultural center of China and represents the national image, China Conservatory of Music bears the historical mission of inheriting and promoting Chinese music and culture.
President Wang remarked that the recently held Global Leadership Network on Higher Music Education and the newly-established Global Music Education League (GMEL) during the event have not only promoted the common development of high-level music education in the age of globalization, but more importantly, made music an ambassador for the advancement of human civilization and world peace.

Minister Counselor Han Jae Heuk first congratulated China Conservatory of Music on its successful launch of the Global Leadership Network on Higher Music Education and the establishment of the Global Music Education League. Learning that Seoul National University, the top Korean university that has cultivated former Secretary-General of the United Nations and several Korean presidents, has worked together with China Conservatory of Music and participated in the Network and joined GMEL, he said it is of great significance. He believed that music should become an important bond for further exchange and cooperation among different countries.
As Minister Counselor Han Jae Heuk once studied Chinese as a student, he has full enthusiasm and respect for the Chinese culture. He hoped that he would be able to participate in the future international cultural exchange and cooperation activities organized by China Conservatory of Music, and would like to provide his maximum support for the exchange of music and culture between China and South Korea.
At the end of the meeting, Minister Counselor Han Jae Heuk, on behalf of the ROK Ambassador to China, sent an invitation to President Wang and hoped to conduct a more in-depth dialogue on future cooperation and exchange between the two sides.
