At 3:00 p.m., September 4, 15 distinguished media (including People’s Daily, Guangming Daily, CCTV, the Xinhua News Agency, China News Service, people.cn, Gmw.cn, China Education Daily, China Culture Daily, China Youth News, Beijing Daily, Beijing Youth Daily, BTV, People’s Music Publishing House and Music Research, etc.) gathered on the press conference of Global Leadership Network on Higher Music Education. All media successively put questions to Wang Liguang, the president of China Conservatory of Music on the events.

Known as the cradle of Chinese musicians and the palace of music in China, China Conservatory of Music is the host of this event. More than 30 principals of world-class music institutions from 16 countries in Asia, North America, Europe and Oceania as well as principals of 7 domestic music academies such as Harbin Conservatory of Music, Shenyang Conservatory of Music, Wuhan Conservatory of Music, Xi’an Conservatory of Music, and so on. Global Music Education League was founded, in hope of  establishing further contact and cooperations among conservatories worldwide. This will be a milestone in international music education circle.

The events will last 3 days from September 10 to 12, during which the five sessions of principal forum is the highlight. The participants will concentrate on academic researches based on the three topics “the contributions of music schools to civilization”, “the trend of globalization of music education” and “music is an ambassador of world peace”. There will also be series of teaching activities, such as “principals attend class”. Meanwhile, Guo Feng, the opening concert leaded by famous performing artists such as Liu Dehai and Lei Jia, shows characteristics of Chinese music, which is highly anticipated.
