HISTORY OF CHINA CONSERVATORY
  • 21st,September1964

    According to the suggestions of Prime Minister Zhou Enlai and his written instructions for The Request for Instructions About Founding China Conservatory of Music and China Dancing Academy submitted by Ministry of Culture, Ministry of Culture selected a lot(group?) of folk music specialists nationwide and established China Conservatory of Music on the basic of original Music Department of Beijing Art College, original Folk Music Department of Central Conservatory of Music and original China Music Research Institution, which would be directly under Ministry of Culture

  • 1969

    All of the College were transferred to Tianjin to experience collective labor.

  • 1973

    China Conservatory of Music and Central Conservatory of Music combined and together established the Music College of Central Five Seven Art University.

  • 1978

    Music College of Central Five Seven Art University renamed as Central Conservatory of Music.

  • May,1980

    The Request for Instructions About Resuming China Conservatory of Music submitted by Ministry of Culture was approved by the State Council. Therefore, China Conservatory of Music resumed its organizational system, and the school building still located in the original address of No.17 of Qianhai West Street. After 1987, it gradually changed the address to the new campus on the side of Jianxiang Bridge.

  • After 1987

    The College gradually changed the address to the No.1 new campus in Anxiang Road on the side of Jianxiang Bridge.

  • 2000

    The Conservatory was changed to directly under the charge of Beijing local government.
